In follow up to my previous article on “Deployment of Dynamics GP Excel Reports”, I wanted to highlight a key feature that came with them in GP 2013 R2.
The big word running around in today’s world in regards to Business Intelligence (BI) is DASHBOARDS. Employees want data at their fingertips and to be able to get a view into that data being entered into your ERP system. Not only do that want it right at their fingertips, they want it to be “real-time” as well as interactive, such as changing a data range.
Well Microsoft has provided you with 4 such Dashboards when you deploy your Excel reports starting with GP 2013 R2. They are related to Financials, Sales, Purchasing and Inventory.
Here is an example screen shot of the Financials Dashboard:
Notice that the Date section of the dashboard is interactive as once can adjust to update that data that you see and it updates in “real-time”, no sitting around waiting for your book-keeper to get you the data:
So definitely get your Excel Reports deployed with GP and take advantage of these default reports that come with your software.
